Developing Vuforia Engine Apps for Magic Leap

Vuforia Engine supports the Magic Leap 2 eyewear device, which you can build immersive AR experiences that tracks objects and images in the scene.

For a guide on how to connect your Magic Leap device, see Magic Leap’s Connect Device documentation.

For setting up Vuforia Engine and the Lumin OS, please see Getting Started with Vuforia Engine and Magic Leap 2.

Also, see Working with the Vuforia Magic Leap Sample in Unity for testing the Vuforia Magic Leap Sample. Note that the sample only works with Unity Editor v. 2022.2.2f1 or newer.

Develop applications that detect and track large machinery, small parts for assemblies, and professional tools based on CAD data representing the physical tool. Enable workers and builders with hand-free augmented user interfaces for quality assurance and instructions on the Magic Leap device. Or track Image Targets and VuMarks to mark and differentiate similar components in a scale up to millions of unique instances.

Develop a Vuforia App for the Magic Leap Device

Design mixed reality experiences for a wide audience using the design principles for digital eyewear, or consult Magic Leap’s own documentation and design principles.

Combine Vuforia Engine with the Magic Leap digital eyewear and enable the Extended Tracking to consistently maintain tracking of targets even when they are not in the field of view (FoV). See Device Tracking for details and see also Continued AR Experiences for recovering the AR session after a pause, resume, or interrupt.
